Forgiveness Therapy Training

Humans in their interactions with the social environment cannot be separated from the possibility of conflict with each other. Conflict will also cause the emergence of negative energies, in the form of anger, disappointment, sadness, frustration, and so on which can affect the mental and physical condition of individuals in various life settings. One of the ways that can be done to resolve conflict is to forgive the person who caused the conflict or also apologize to oneself. By apologizing, individuals will be more likely to continue their lives and not be trapped in a situation of constant conflict.

In dealing with its clients, the Psychology Consulting Center at Universitas Gunadarma often finds cases of conflict that lead to prolonged anxiety, sleeplessness, helplessness, and even the desire to end one’s life. Forgiveness therapy is one of the interventions that needs to be learned so that counselors in carrying out their role as a helper, can help clients get out of their problems and help clients achieve a state of well-being.
Therefore, the Gunadarma University Psychology Service Center held a Forgiveness Therapy Training for teaching staff in general at the Faculty of Psychology, and especially those who work as psychologists with the speaker Dr. Ni Made Taganing Kurniati, MPsi, Psychologist (Researcher and Practitioner of Forgiveness Therapy) and was held on Thursday – Friday, June 27-28, 2024 at 9.00-16.00 WIB using the Zoom Meeting Platform.
The training was attended by 29 participants where each participant got their own impression from the training, such as being able to develop knowledge about the application of forgiveness strategies, being able to help others in the practice of forgiveness, and being able to apply the training to cases in the counseling bureau.
