History
Universitas Gunadarma’s Bachelor Programme in Psychology is under the auspices of the Faculty of Psychology. The establishment of the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gunadarma was based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education, specifically the Department of Higher Education No. 92/DIKTI/Kep/1996, so that in September 1996, the Bachelor programme of psychology could be implemented. For almost 27 years, the Bachelor in Psychology program has had more than 10,000 alumni. Currently, the program has 231 permanent lecturers with 6,516 students.
2002 – 2010
In 2002, Universitas Gunadarma’s Faculty of Psychology established a Master of Science’s program in Psychology. However, this was not enough to meet the demands of stakeholders, so in 2010 a Doctoral Program in Psychology was established.
2011
Although the Faculty of Psychology already has a Bachelor Program, Master of Science’s Program and Doctoral Program in Psychology, the need for psychologists as professionals is very high and this profession can only be obtained through professional master’s education. Therefore, in 2011 a Master’s Degree in Professional Psychology was established at Universitas Gunadarma.
2018 – now
Universitas Gunadarma’s Bachelor Programme of Psychology currently has an A (Superior) accreditation status from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (BAN-PT) through Decree No. 2692/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/IX/2018. This status was also achieved five years earlier, in 2013 based on BAN-PT Decree No. 222/BAN-PT/Ak-XVI/S/XI/2013. Accreditation from BAN-PT is an acknowledgement of the study program’s performance, as well as a demonstration of Universitas Gunadarma’s consistent commitment to maintaining the quality of education provided to the community.
Universitas Gunadarma’s Faculty of Psychology is not only available on the island of Java as the center of government. Since January 10, 2023 through the Ministerial Decree of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education regarding the Implementation Permit 1/E/O/2023 we also open a Bachelor Programme of Psychology in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, which will become the new capital city of the Republic of Indonesia. The Bachelor Programme of Psychology in Penajam Paser Utara has received accreditation equivalence through the National Accreditation Board Decree Number 2303/SK/BAN- PT/Ak.P/S/VI/2023 with a B (Good) rating.
